Take the example of people engaged in manufacturing something. No one makes everything himself and many parts are bought from various companies who make them. It can work out well for you if cordial business relationships are maintained with the external resources who supply you with the parts. In this mutually profitable relationship, you could get your parts tailor made and the vendor has a steady source of business. supposing you are one - you will be rewarded greatly if you establish long term relations with organizations that require the parts manufactured by you.

There are several ways this could be done ? for example the way it was once done was telemarketing and direct mailing, despite its limitations but the more commonly used areas are ads in trade journals or trade shows. Two companies in tune with each other's operations usually form mutually beneficial partnerships in these trade shows. Several business cues could be obtained regarding partnerships if you make an assertive and smart presentation which not only educates and informs but entertains too. Over and above the presentation the way the trade show has come up also has a lot to do with it. When the trade fails to attract the right kind of people or hardly any one turns up, then the whole exercise is an utter waster of time, money and effort.

Advertising in trade magazines, subscribed to mainly by industry people could be a cost effective option for B2 lead generation. Such ads would easily reach the kind of people you are targeting. In terms of reach and money spent, trade magazines are any day better than radio and newspapers.

The internet with its ever expanding reach and influence offers a goldmine of opportunities for B2B lead generation. There are various online techniques for generating leads like direct marketing, search marketing and advertising banners, etc. 3 billion but with the kind of fast growth that the trend is showing it could go over billion by 2008.
