Auto Insurance -- Non-Owner, Why Bother?

By Chimezirim Odimba

You don't own a car. So, why would you get an auto insurance policy? This is such a brilliant question! Having a auto insurance policy even though you do not having a car would be a brilliant decision in most situations to be discussed shortly.

If you live in big cities with more efficient mass transit systems, you may not really need to own a vehicle for your daily movement. Car rental services are regularly ready to take care of those days you may need a vehicle for special occassion.

Along with renting a vehicle, you will aslo have to buy a car insurance cover for the rent period. These rental service sell such car insurance policies. However, depending on how often you have to hire a car, you might be better off with a non-owner car insurance policy.

Furthermore, your friends and sibblings will feel a lot more comfortable giving their vehicles to you if you need to borrow one. Look at it from the vehicle owner's opinion: It displays a level of responsibility. People like dealing with people who show that they are responsible.

Before you live with the wrong impression, let me clarify a something about a non-owner auto insurance policy. If an accident happens, your non-owner's policy can't take precedence over the auto owner's policy. It functions only if the auto owner's policy's liability limit can't cover the damages caused. I think an example will help you understand better...

Imagine that you borrowed a vehicle and had an accident where you caused a damage of twenty seven thousand dollars. Your non-owner's policy will not be touched if the car owner's liability limit is $30,000. If, on the other hand, there's a deficit where the vehicle owner's policy cannot cover such damage, your non-owner's policy will take care of the balance.

It is very important, if you have anything to do with auto insurance, that you learn how to get huge savings because of the disparity in premiums by insurance companies. This can save you many hundred dollars. Moreover, it is very ethical -- No fake deals here.

Would you like to see how it's done? Would you like to save up to one thousand dollars in your auto insurance?.
